  • Welcome to my blog!

I love the simplicity of an image, a moment captured, which can be remembered over and over again. Photography, whether I call it my career or hobby, it has become a true love of my life.

Since the age of twelve my big sister Suzanne had become my best client. White sheets pinned on the bedroom walls, a few dabs of red lipstick and a 24-roll disposable camera was all we needed for our Vogue inspired photo-shoots. I can clearly recall the excitement as if it were yesterday, running up to the photo center at Wal-Mart or Costco, I would shuffle through the D's to find my pack of prints. I would be devastated on the days they hadn't been processed. I can proudly say I have come a long way since those days and am so thankful to the wonderful mentors I have had along the way.

My love for creativity continues to grow each day. I thrive in creative environments, they have produced some of my most cherished moments. My goal is to channel that creativity through my images. I simply want to make people feel. I want people to feel warmth, peace, love, happiness, maybe even confusion and sadness. I strive for my images to be real, unaltered, for that is when moments are truly felt, not just seen.

Introducing Jackson Hayes Fliss I Orange County Portrait Photographer

From the moment I walked into the Fliss home I was in awe! Greg and Alisha, proud parents of little Jackson have incredible style. Their home was delightfully decorated and Jacksons room was nothing short of a dream! As I saw little Jackson for the first time I fell in love, those cheeks, those eyes, and that little smile is just to die for. Seeing Greg and Alisha with Jackson truly touched my heart. He is such a happy little boy and is deeply loved by his parents. While editing this session I couldn’t stop giggling at Jacksons adorable expressions, what a blessing he is to his family!

Photographing the Fliss family that day reminded me again of why I love what I do. You see, I had the pleasure of photographing Greg and Alisha’s wedding a couple years back and having them ask me to come photograph Jackson was such an honor. I feel as I have some small part in this amazing family. What a blessing!

Enjoy…

The McClure Family

I had the pleasure of photographing the McClure family quite some time ago. I realized that I had never got them on the blog a few weeks back and set out to get them uploaded! Ryan and Vanessa’s two girls, Bella and Mia, are angels full of love and joy like their Mom. The two dog,s Buddy and Lola are quite a pair, they were pretty cool and calm the entire shoot, I absolutely adored the both of them and I could see how close they were to the families heart. Ryan and Vanessa are extraordinary people and extraordinary parents. Their love for one another is shown through their children and through their whole family as a unit, it’s a beautiful thing!

REFUGE SALON I los angeles county photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of spending the day at Salon Refuge/Form Academy in Echo Park. When I first arrived to the Salon I absolutely fell in love with the space, a photographers dream! Interesting walls, bare walls, raw cement floors, old brick, this salon has it all. Not only is Salon Refuge home to many amazing stylists and colorists, they also run an Academy for those wanting to join the industry. If I ever wanted to become a licensed hairdresser, this is the Academy I would attend, hands down! First of all, you get to study in a rad environment, come on now! Secondly, the teachers are the expert stylists with over 20 years experience, who are not just teachers…they still work, they still practice! Lastly, the students also get to interact with some of the newer stylists in the salon, gaining a fresh outlook on how it’s going to be once they graduate.

So…if you’re looking for a fresh outlook, a fresh haircut, a lovely facial or even just a location of inspiration and creativity then head on down to Refuge Salon, it’s a wonderful space full of wonderful artists.

Introducing Liv Johnson I Los Angeles Newborn Photographer

There is something so precious about a mother giving birth. God’s design is so perfect and so beautiful, just like little Liv. Here she is at only two months old. She is quite the young gal, with her big blue eyes and perfect face. We decided to wait a while to do photos so she could thicken up a bit. I just love babies with rolls! Her mother has nick-named her “chunk-chunk”… What can I say, it’s pretty darn cute! Oh Livy, you are such a doll :0

Suzanne Johnson I Maternity

Below is my sister, eight and a half months pregnant with my niece Liv! Suzanne is one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out. I am always thrilled to photograph my family, especially my sister, since we have our history of “tacky” fashion shoots in the bedroom at the ages of 12 and 14…It’s always been an experience with her and that is what makes our shoots so much fun! Check out my favorites.

CHLOE KINCER I Los Angeles Portrait Photographer

Chloe Kiner…here she is, a one-of-a-kind girl! What a fabulous day this was shooting in downtown L.A.
Chloe, her adorable mother Christy, Mirna Gonzalez (the most fabulous make-up artist ever) and myself had quite a fun experience!
I have such a passion for shooting in L.A. I get so excited every time I drive into the city, I always know to expect something different.
Our shoot started out with gusty winds and a lot of  laughs, soon after we ran into skater kids on the corner, they were more than happy to be in Chloe’s photos.
I can’t express how much I enjoyed shooting Chloe, she is such a doll.
Here are my favorites!

JACY LEVINE I CLASS OF 2011 l LA COUNTY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

“Hey Jacy, it’s so nice to meet you,  you ready to take some pictures?” Jacys response, “uhhhhhhmmm, yea”.
When I met Jacy there was an instant ease between the two of us, she is so down to earth and extremely easy to talk to. And for someone who doesn’t like to be in front of the camera, she is undeniably photogenic!

Jacys photo shoot was very calm and relaxed,  we got to walk and talk at the private Brookside Equestrian center in Walnut. It was a gorgeous day, the weather was perfect and Jacy looked adorable! Photographing high school seniors is such a treat for me. It reminds me of my high school experience and it brings me to a place of excitement for those entering the new chapter in their life called College!

Jacy I wish nothing but the best for your future! You are such a doll and I can’t wait to work with you again in the future.

JOSH + EMILY I married I palm springs wedding photographer

Josh and Emily stole my heart from the moment I met them. Their family and friends had the same effect on me as well. When I arrived to Mountain View Country Club, Emily and her bridesmaids were relaxed, there was absolutely no rush whatsoever. The same went for Josh and his Groomsmen. Josh and Emily are two of the most laid back people I have ever had the pleasure of working for, they made the day calm and truly peaceful. Their ceremony was officiated by Emily’s father, it was meaningful and intimate. It was such a perfect day, the weather was great, the guests were awesome and Josh and Emily were just plain fantastic! These are my favorites…
